Find a collection of my original work, embroidery hoop prints, pillows and cards at Bricolage. In the heart of downtown Paducah, Kentucky, Bricolage curates and sells a lovely selection of high-end work from local artists in a beautiful space. Though Bricolage has been open for some time now, they are having their official grand opening on Saturday.

This is my view today. I'm trying to finish up my huge pillow order. Last time I made pillows, my mom did all of the sewing, so it's been a learning curve for me. After sewing 50 pillows, I'm getting pretty good with this sewing machine. Well, at least I can sew a straight line now! I did an experiment with acrylic ink. It's just what I needed! I'm not so thrilled with the drawing I did here, but the ink...It's great. Expect to see a lot more painting in my drawings. Yay! "This is Marketing" by Seth Godin is the first non-art related business/marketing book I've ever read. As I often do, I picked it up from the new book shelf at work. I've known about Seth Godin and his iconic blog for years and recently heard him speak with @cathy.heller on her podcast. When I saw the book at the library, I knew it would be a good read. . Marketing is a huge part of my job as both an artist and in my "day job" at the library. It didn't come naturally to me at first, but the more I do the more I enjoy it. As Godin teaches, marketing should never feel icky and shouldn't be spammy. Instead, marketing should serve and create connection. . I realize I haven't actually told you much about the book, but trust me, it's a good, quick, insightful read. I think I'm going to end up buying a copy for myself so I can really digest all of the content and even mark it up. If marketing is something you do, I encourage you to head to your local library or bookstore and pick this up. . . OK, that was a lot of words. Now it's your turn. What should I read next?
