We Bought a Fixer - The Built-in got Bigger!

Hi again. How are you?
I had a really productive day in my studio, pumping out some new work.
I just couldn't tear myself away to write my Wednesday post until now!

A few weeks back, Matt added a little extension to our built-in.

He constructed a desk to span the space between the bookcase and the entertainment center.
Pretty smart use of space if I do say so myself!
Despite the fact that there are "his and hers" chairs here, Matt has claimed this as his domain.
I'm totally OK with that....as I have my "secret room" studio.
(I promise to show you my studio when I get it fully decorated!)

We recently picked up this sharp looking desk chair at a yard sale for $5. What a steal!
We love its warm, worn look, and clean lines.

I've had this chair in my personal collection for years.
I love the way it plays against the dark, heavy desk chair.

Well, that's all I've got to say about that.
What you you think about our newest DIY? Do tell!

P.S. Be on the look out for new listings in my Etsy shoppe any day now!

Introducing: The Classic Chair Collection

Eames chairs have been a favorite subject for me.
Hi! How are you?

For the first time in a long time, I have a new product in my Etsy shoppe!  Meet the Classic Chair Collection.

For the past year or so, I've been on a big mid-century modern kick and I've created several works featuring iconic chairs from the period. At last weekend's art festival, a patron requested that I turn my mid-century "classics" into a card set and I happily obliged.

The Eames molded plywood chair
The Classic Chair Collection features high quality prints of 6 of my original mixed media artworks, with matching white envelopes. You'll find 3 different Eames chairs, the Starck "Ghost" chair, a vintage office chair, and clean-lined armchair designed by Larsen and Madsen. (Only 4 are pictured here, head over to Etsy to see the others.) The cards are professionally printed by me using archival pigment inks on matte paper. The inside of the card is left blank for your own personal message. Each card measures 4.25" x 5.5" (folded).

A set of 6 cards runs ya just $18.00 plus shipping, but if you head on over to my Facebook Fan Page and like it, you can earn yourself a 20% discount! Woo!n Already a fan? Then just enjoy the discount!

Hope you have yourself a fab day. Ta-Ta for now.

New Print and It's on Sale!

Greetings Friends!

I've got a brand new print in the shoppe today! "Color to Live" is an archival 8" x 8" art print that features LeCorbusier's iconic LC2 chairs.

Le Corbusier (who's real name was Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris) was a master of Modern design. He was interested in making clean-lined, efficient yet attractive furniture and architecture.

My most favorite of Le Corbusier's designs is Villa Savoye. Constructed in 1929-30 outside of Paris, he called this home a "machine for living." Although it looks severe, and kind of crazy, there was a reason for every design decision he made. The curve of the lower level interior space was designed around the turning radius of a car. The interior space is filled with windows and it flows almost seamlessly into the outdoor courtyard.

I just adore this lego model of the Villa!

Art History lesson over. Back to my art! To celebrate the arrival of this new print in my shoppe, I'm offering this for only $15 ($5 off regular price!) "Color to Live" will only be available at this discounted price until Monday, November 28th. So hurry on over and buy!  And while you're at it, head on over to my Papernstitch exhibition for another discount! Woo.

Ta-Ta for now!
